Who we are
Attira The Hire Studio (ABN 92 474 683 836) is an occasion dress hire business based in Brisbane, Queensland, hiring dresses Australia-wide through attirahire.com.au and Instagram. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Attira.
This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and how you can access or correct it. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
By using our website, booking a dress or contacting us, you agree to us handling your information as described here.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to hire you a dress and answer your questions.

We do not ask for your phone number. You can browse the website without giving us any personal information.
How we use it and who we share it with
We use your information to:
- check, approve and confirm your booking, and send you a secure link to pay
- post your dress to you and remind you when it needs to come back
- answer your enquiries and arrange try-ons
- keep the records we are required to keep for tax and accounting
- protect the website from spam and fraud
We never sell your information, and we only send you marketing emails if you have asked to receive them.
We share only what each of these services needs to do its job:

Some of these services, such as Stripe and Microsoft, may store information outside Australia, including in the United States. We use well-known providers that protect personal information to a standard similar to Australian law.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Cookies and website analytics
Our website uses a small number of cookies so that it works properly:
- Bag and checkout cookies. WooCommerce uses cookies to remember the dresses in your bag and keep your checkout session open. These are needed for the site to work and are removed when your session ends or soon after.
- Order source. When you place an order, WooCommerce records how you reached our site (for example, from Instagram, Google or a direct visit, and any campaign tags in the link). We use this only to understand which channels bring customers to us.
- Payment security. At checkout, Stripe may set cookies and collect device information to prevent fraud. Stripe handles this under its own privacy policy.
- Spam protection. Our enquiry forms briefly record your IP address to limit repeated submissions and stop spam.
We do not use advertising cookies or sell your information.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the bag and checkout may not work without them.
Storage, security and how long we keep it
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Our website runs over a secure (HTTPS) connection, access to our systems is password protected and limited to us, and card details are handled by Stripe and never stored by us.
We keep order and payment records for five years, as Australian tax law requires. We keep enquiries and messages only as long as we need them to answer you or manage your hire, and we will delete them sooner if you ask. When we no longer need information, we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.
If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as the law requires.
Access, correction, complaints and contact
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. Email us at info@attirahire.com.au and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm who you are first. We will keep any records the law requires us to keep, and we will tell you if that applies.
If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, please email us first so we can try to put it right. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on our website, with the date it was last updated at the top.
